September 22nd, 2014 through September 28th, 2014

September 22nd, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Zuleika M. Ortiz, 22 years old, of Rochester on the charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Ortiz is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

Arrest: Police arrested Debra J. Gliszczynski, 53 years old, of Rochester on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Gliszczynski is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

September 23rd, 2014:   

Arrest: Police arrested Michael R. Boyer, 25 years old, on the charge of Third Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Boyer is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

September 25th, 2014:   

Arrest: Police arrested John L. Southcott, Jr., 22 years old, on the charge of Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Southcott is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.  

September 26th, 2014:   

Arrest: Police arrested Randall P. Van Houten, 21 years old, on charges of Felony Driving While Intoxicated and First Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operator (both Felonies), Second and Third Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operator (both Misdemeanors), as well as other traffic-related offenses. Van Houten is due to appear in Sweden Town Court. 

September 27th, 2014:

Property Damage: Police responded to a Student Lane address for the reported vehicle flipped, which police believe was caused by several college-aged males who were seen fleeing the area.

Property Damage: Police discovered a Clinton Street resident’s car rear window had been smashed, causing about $200 in damage.

Arrest: Police arrested Anthony J. Verstreate, 21 years old, of Fairport on charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, Second Degree Assault - against a Police Officer (both Felonies), Resisting Arrest, Second Degree Obstructing Governmental Administration and Seventh Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (all Misdemeanors). Verstreate was remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of bail.

September 28th, 2014:

Property Damage: A Lincoln Street resident reports their vehicle fender was damaged sometime overnight from a suspect “keying” the surface.

September 29th, 2014 through October 5th, 2014

September 29th, 2014:

Theft: A Main Street resident reports the theft of their bicycle, which was claimed to have been stolen while attached to the front porch of the residence.

September 30th, 2014:   

Dispute: Police responded to handle a dispute between a motorist and pedestrian on Allen Street.

October 1st, 2014:

Burglary: Police found a rear shattered glass door at a Main Street business. It was determined a suspect broke in and stole approximately $200.

Arrest: Police arrested Phillip D. Byford, 24 years old, of Holley on charges of Resisting Arrest, a Misdemeanor, as well as disorderly conduct and harassment charges. Byford was remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of bail.

October 2nd, 2014:

Dangerous Condition: Police responded to the area of the Smith Street bridge, for the report of teens jumping off the bridge and swimming in the canal.

October 3rd, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Austin M. Tschudy, 22 years old, of Hamlin on the charge of Third Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Tschudy is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

October 4th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Mikal A. Bowers, 19 years old, on the charge of Seventh Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Misdemeanor. Bowers was remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of bail.

October 5th, 2014:

Property Damage: A King Street resident reports parts of their outdoor food grill were damaged.

Arrest: Police arrested Aaron J. Zelter, 21 years old, of Brockport on a charge of Petit Larceny, a Misdemeanor. Zelter is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

October 6th, 2014:

Accident: Police investigated a motor vehicle accident on Idlewood Drive.  

October 7th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Jessy J. Black, 21 years old, of Brockport on charges of Resisting Arrest, Second Degree Obstructing Governmental Administration (both Misdemeanors), as well as a Village Code violation for Open Container. This arrest stemmed from an earlier incident on September 27th. Black was remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of bail.

October 8th, 2014:

Theft: A Park Avenue resident reports the theft of their black bicycle.

October 9th, 2014:

Animal: Police assisted a Spring Street resident in getting a wild animal out of their house.

October 10th, 2014:

Theft: An Allen Street resident reports the theft of a six foot aluminum step ladder from their yard.  

October 11th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Eric J. Diedrich, 31 years old, of Hilton on the charge of Third Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Diedrich is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

Arrest: Police arrested Michael H. Zeitlin, 29 years old, on the charge of Fourth Degree Criminal Mischief, a Misdemeanor. Zeitlin is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

October 12th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Chad J. Cooper, 18 years old of Hamlin on Misdemeanor charges of Third Degree Identity Theft and Second Degree Criminal Impersonation. Cooper is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

October 13th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Steven J. Barber, 29 years old, of Brockport on the charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Registration Suspended/Revoked, as well as another traffic-related violation. Barber is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

October 14th, 2014:

Suspicious Condition: A citizen reported a group of approximately ten people in the parking lot of 18 North Main Street possibly doing drugs. Patrols verified no signs of drug activity.

October 15th, 2014:

Check of Welfare: Police investigated a suspicious condition after a citizen reported that they observed what appeared to be a child inside of an unattended parked vehicle, secured in a car seat among a large pile of clothing in the vehicle. Patrols verified no child or car seat in vehicle.

October 16th, 2014:

Burglary: A West Avenue resident reported the theft of a several industrial power tools from inside of her attached garage.

Arrest:  Police arrested Steven J. Davis, 27 years old, of Spencerport on the charges of Felony Driving While Intoxicated and Misdemeanor Third Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Davis is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

Arrest: Police arrested Matthew C. Peters, 35 years old, of Holley on the charges of Misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Peters is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

October 17th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrest Jason P. Thompson, 37 years old of Bergen, and Brian A. Reynolds, 33 years old, of Brockport on charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (Felony) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Thompson also had two active warrants at the time of arrest; one belonging to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the other to the Rochester Police Department. Thompson and Reynolds were remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of bail.

October 18th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Tyler J. Millspaugh, 22 years old, of Albion on charges of Misdemeanor Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Millspaugh is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

Arrest: Police arrested Adam M. Rotoli, 38 years old, of Albion on charges of Misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated, as well as other traffic related offenses. Rotoli is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

Property Damage: A College Street resident reported that someone broke the front living room window to their house with a broom stick.

Property Damage: A Holley Street resident reported deep scratches spelling out obscenities along the driver’s side of his vehicle overnight.

October 19th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Amy E. Hinman, 21 years old, of Corning on charges of Misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Hinman is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.
