June 16th, 2014 through June 22nd, 2014

June 16th, 2014:

Dispute: Police responded to a Barry Street residence for a dispute.

June 17th, 2014:

Property Damage: A Fair Street resident reported someone damaged their motor vehicle tire.

June 18th, 2014:

Dispute: Police responded to a Woodlands Way residence for a dispute.

June 19th, 2014:

Alarm: Police responded to a Main Street commercial burglar alarm, and determined the place of business to be safe and secure.

June 20th, 2014:

Dispute: Police responded to investigate for a dispute call in the parking lot of a Clinton Street address. 

June 21st, 2014:

Annoyance: Police responded to a Winston Woods address for an annoyance call. A citation was issued as a result.

June 22nd, 2014:  

Property Damage: A Clark Street resident reported someone damaged to their wooden porch hand railing.

Theft: A North Main Street resident reported their “Trex” Mountain Bike was stolen from their front porch.

Arrest: Police arrested Margarita Beliz, 38 years old, of Brockport on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Beliz is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

Arrest: Police arrested Shirley A. Rose, 66 years old, of Brockport on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Rose is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

The Brockport Police responded to 350 calls for service from June 16th, 2014 through June 22nd, 2014 with 10, 185 calls to date.

June 23rd, 2014 through June 29th, 2014

June 23rd, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Steven C. Strapp, 32 years old, of Kent on charges of Third Degree Unlicensed Operation, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Strapp is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

Arrest: Police arrested Amanda L. Begy, 26 years old, of Brockport on charges of Third Degree Unlicensed Operation, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Begy is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

June 24th, 2014:

Grand Larceny: A West Avenue resident reports their orange “Michael Kors” wallet, Capital One MasterCard Credit Card, and multiple debit cards were stolen.   

June 25th, 2014:

Attempted Robbery: Police were called to a Gordon Street address for a male claimed to have been attacked by 3 black males. No property was taken.

June 26th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Anthony L. Collichio, 24 years old, on charges of Second Degree Criminal Trespass, a Misdemeanor. Collichio is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

June 27th, 2014:

Investigation: Police were dispatched to a Lyman Street address for an Endangering the Welfare of a Child investigation.  

June 28th, 2014:

Tampering: Police were called to a dispute on Main Street. A Misdemeanor Third Degree Criminal Tampering report was taken against a known suspect. The victim declined to press charges at the time of the report.

June 29th, 2014:

Alarms: Police responded to multiple fire and burglar alarms due to the severe thunderstorm Sunday afternoon. All were caused as a result of the inclement weather.

June 30th, 2014 through July 6th, 2014

June 30th, 2014:

Property Damage: An East Avenue resident reports someone damaged their picnic table.

Burglary: A Fair Street business manager reports someone broke into and stole miscellaneous tools from the property.

July 1st, 2014:

Investigation: Police were called to a West Avenue business for an assault report against a known suspect. The victim refused to file charges at the time of the report.

Property Damage: A Park Avenue resident reports someone scattered and broke various outdoor yard items.

July 2nd, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Logan D. Willard, 26 years old, of Hamlin on the charge of Third Degree Falsely Reported an Incident, a Misdemeanor. Willard is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

Burglary:  A Fair Street business manager reports someone broke into and copper wire, plexi-glass, and fencing from the property.

July 3rd, 2014:

Suspicious Condition: During routine neighborhood patrols, Police found an open garage door to a home under construction. An interior search was performed, and it was determined there was no theft or damage to the home.

July 4th, 2014:

Check Welfare: Police were called to a Main Street park bench to check on the health of a woman unconscious. Please ensured her safety, and determined the woman only to be sleeping. 

July 5th, 2014:

Dispute: Police responded to a State Street address for a dispute for a property damage and criminal trespass investigation against a known suspect. The victim declined charges at the time of the report.

Trespass: Police discovered several people leaving the area of a Fair Street business recently damaged and burglarized. The investigation is continuing.

Arrest: Police arrested Francisco Guerrero-Vargas, 35 years old, of Brockport on the charge of Fifth Degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, a Misdemeanor. Guerrero-Vargas was alleged to have stolen property from a Fair Street business during a string of break-ins.

July 7th, 2014 through July 13th, 2014

July 7th, 2014:

Alarm: Police responded to a fire alarm on Allen Street.

July 8th, 2014:

Burglary Arrest: The Brockport Police have made multiple arrests in connection with recent Burglaries and property theft. See attached press release.

July 9th, 2014:

Dispute: Police responded for the reported fight at a Chappell Street address.

July 10th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Steven L. Ray, 49 years old, of Brockport on charges of First Degree Harassment and Second Degree Criminal Contempt, both Misdemeanors. Ray is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

July 11th, 2014:  

Arrest: Police arrested Andrew S. Walch, 29 years old, of Hamlin on charges of Resisting Arrest, Second Degree Obstructing Governmental Administration, Second Degree Criminal Impersonation (all Misdemeanors) and a Harassment charge.

July 12th, 2014:

Arrest: Police arrested Jack W. Brennan, 57 years old, of Brockport on charges of Third Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, a Misdemeanor, as well as other traffic-related offenses. Brennan is due to appear in Sweden Town Court.

 Brockport Police Make Multiple Arrests Following Suspicious Activity at a Local Business

Brockport, NY, – July 16th, 2014

Brockport Police report multiple arrests have been made in connection with a string of Burglaries that have taken place at a local business. Three counts each of Burglary 3rd (Class-D Felony), and Petit Larceny (Class-A Misdemeanor) have been lodged against:

 

 

 

 

 

Joshua L. Murray, 23 years old, of Rochester

Brandon M. Gaskill-Evert, 21 years old, of Rochester

Nicole M. Forte, 21 years old, of Spencerport

Erica L. Bell, 21 years old, of Spencerport

The aforementioned individuals have been charged for allegedly entering unlawfully into and stealing property from a local business on three separate dates.  This has been an ongoing problem and police expended a tremendous amount of effort and implemented a number of investigative tools and means including but not limited to perimeter checks and surveillance, that ultimately led to this arrest.  During one of the property checks, officers found the business had been entered and quickly set up a perimeter with the assistance of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, capturing the above individuals.  Once identified, the Brockport Police utilized various investigative methods to gather additional evidence connecting these individuals to their alleged crimes.

Those arrested were brought in front of Judge Robert Connors of the Sweden Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
