Brockport Police
Explorers:
"The Brockport Police
Explorer Program is for youth between the ages of 14 and 20 who are
interested in a career in law enforcement. The Explorers learn about the
everyday activities of a Police Officers job through class room
activities, role plays, and field trips. The Explorers are utilized in
traffic control during Village parades, and play an important role in
community events such as National Night Out, the Sidewalk Sale and the
Arts Festival. One of the goals of the Explorer program is to help
prepare an individual for entry into the Police Academy. The way the
program is conducted is very similar to how the Police Academy is run with
respect to standards of dress, personal conduct, and the training/learning
activities. Any youth interested in participating in Explorer Post
may contact Officer Stephen Mesiti at 637-1020 Ext 48 or
smesiti@brockportpolice.org .
You may also print and complete the Explorer
Information Request Form (requires Adobe Acrobat
Reader).

On December 21, 2005 virtually every
member of the Brockport Police Department and many members of the Brockport
Police Department Explorer Post presented every resident of the Lakeside
Beikirch Care Center with a Christmas gift. Santa Claus played by Officer
Paul Wheat, was also present to present the gifts and wish Holiday Cheer.
The money, to purchase the gifts, was raised by the police explorers during
the Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner. |
