Drug and Alcohol Impaired Driving Awareness:

Education

Brockport Police instructors provide community groups, school classes, and other professionals with information on recognizing, and preventing, drug and alcohol impaired driving.

Police officers with specialized training in drug and alcohol enforcement teach programs for anyone interested in gaining awareness of drug abuse, alcohol impaired driving, and drug impaired driving issues.  The material is not limited to traffic safety, but is an important component in our overall effort to reduce death and injury due to impaired drivers on our roadways.  Examples of our programs include "Fatal Vision: Alcohol Awareness," "Drug Impairment Training for Educational Professionals," "National Night Out:  Drugs in our Community," "Street Drugs for Emergency Medical Professionals," and "Street Drugs for Transportation Professionals" (in association with the Brockport Central School District Transportation Department).

For information regarding any of these programs, contact Sgt. Mark Philippy at 637-1020 x42 or e-mail at philippy@brockportpolice.org.
